Why We Built This Site
North Carolina makes many court records and docket entries available to the public, but the right path depends on the request. The Richmond County Clerk of Superior Court keeps local trial-court files and indexes. District Court handles traffic, infractions, misdemeanors, small claims, family matters, and many civil cases, while North Carolina Superior Court, Judicial District 21, handles felony trials and higher-value civil matters. The North Carolina eCourts Portal brings Richmond’s public Case Summary / Register of Actions into one searchable system. This resource gathers the official search, calendar, clerk, and record-access routes in one local reference.
What You Will Find Here

- Record requests: the Court Case Records route for clerk-held files and certified copies
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference resource, not part of the North Carolina Judicial Branch, the Richmond County Clerk of Superior Court, or any other government office. The limits are important:
- We cannot obtain an official Case Summary, docket, or case file for a person
- We cannot move, reset, or change a court hearing or calendar setting
- We cannot seal, expunge, amend, or remove an entry from a court record
- We cannot issue a certified court copy, order, or other official document
- We cannot offer legal advice about a Richmond County case or court procedure
- We cannot promise that a court phone number, fee, or setting has not changed since publication
The Richmond County Clerk of Superior Court or the court that holds the case is the source for an official or certified copy. This resource can identify the appropriate channel, but it cannot issue the document.
Search Partners
Some pages include search boxes supplied by third-party providers. Those providers set their own services and pricing. A paid signup through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this free reference resource. The providers control their results, charges, and service terms, and their results are not official Richmond County court records.
